I have some colleagues whom, I think, think my sketchnoting is not “scholarly.” But they haven’t looked into it like I have. Some really smart people in all professions are using it. I am inviting my students to get involved on a voluntary basis and some are enjoying it. I teach master’s level students who are studying to become school librarians so I am very attuned to the K-12 environment. I was in public schools for 25 years before switching to academia. You are right about smiles. One big plus for me is that learning about all this is fun and makes me happy!
