Sorry for the late reply, Doug’s setup doesn’t send me a notification in case of a reply.
Yes, you got that right, you need to come up with some storage for your photos yourself.
This could be your blog, but it can also be an image hosting service, if you are not going to write blog posts.
There are lots of them out there. Wikipedia gives a nice summary on the aspects to think about before choosing one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image_hosting_service and then helps with choosing one with a comparison chart: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_photo-sharing_websites
If you decide to write a blog, I would also recommend reading a Wikipedia article, this time the one about blogs: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blog because you will become an author and publishing has also some legal aspects to it. Again there are lots of services for hosting your blog, find a comparison chart at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_free_blog_hosting_services
The columns in both charts serve you as your decision criteria.
Feel free to come back with questions. We will guide you through your process and cheer you in the end, when your first publication is done. 🙂
I didn’t recommend a service on purpose, because I think the decision itself is part of the process and part of the fun, so that in the end you can say proudly it’s 100% your work.
